Manuscripts
The correspondence series contains 961 letters and is organized alphabetically by author. The series consists of a large number of letters written to the Jacobs brothers and their mercantile and banking operations. The collection includes letters from individual customers and businesses regarding their accounts, letters from other banking institutions regarding customers, and letters from suppliers and shippers regarding the mercantile business. The correspondence also includes a significant number of letters written within the Jacobs family. There are number of early letters from Mark Jacobs to his wife, Hannah, as well as a few written to his sons, Lionel and Barron. There are also quite a few letters written by Lionel to Barron as well as a few from their youngest brother, Albert, and a number from their sisters and brothers-in-law. The financial documents series contains 2,191 documents, sorted and alphabetized by type and then by institution or organization. The bulk of financial documents consist of processed checks, collection and returns forms, and receipt postal cards. The financial documents also include account books, balance sheets, bills, inventory lists, order forms, protest cards, receipts, and tax receipts. These documents reflect both the mercantile and banking enterprises of the Jacobs family including L. M. Jacobs and Company, Pima County Bank, Agency Pima County Bank, Cochise County Bank, and First National Bank.

The Manuscripts series contains various poems, stories, and historical accounts written by Samuel L. Kreider. Many of these accounts relate to individuals like Charles Victor Hall and Mary Hall (original homesteaders of Los Angeles' West Adams area), structures like the Los Angeles High School, and other California histories. It also includes notes, reports, and other documents from the Friday Morning Club and its prominent members. Beyond the private papers, this series holds many documents relating to U.S. trade with Japan and the federal General Accounting Office branch in Los Angeles. There is also a Japanese poem. The series is arranged in alphabetical order and then chronologically. The Correspondence series is primarily related to Samuel L. Kreider. Most of the letters are work-related with a large percentage of them pertaining to U.S. trade with Japanese businesses. Moreover, there is also private correspondence. Mr. Kreider corresponded with many locally and nationally prominent people. The list includes, but is not limited to Fletcher Bowron, Herbert Hoover, and Lansing Hoskins Beach. He also has correspondence from C.C. Julian & Royalties Co. The series also contains letters Mr. Kreider wrote to various newspapers and magazines about publishing his historical accounts and stories. Lastly, there is correspondence pertaining to Mr. and Mrs. Kreider's philanthropic work within the Los Angeles High School Alumni Association and the Friday Morning Club. One letter is specifically from Caroline M. Severance. The series is arranged in alphabetical order by author and then by addressee.

Handmade photo album containing eight (8) black-and-white photographs of Edwin Hubble's black cat, Nicolas Copernicus, dated 1947. Photographs by Alfred Parish and Maxine Parish. The album is composed of front and back decorated covers, two title pages, and six (6) pages of photographs of the cat, Nicolas. The insides of the front and back covers also contain photographs of the cat, for a total of eight (8) photos. These photos were taken at the Hubble's residence in San Marino, California in 1947. The album appears to be a gift to the Hubbles from the photographers, Alfred and Maxine Parish. Description of front cover: The front cover is decorated with a Christmas theme: gold-stamped bells, ribbon and angels against a white background (possibly wrapping paper) with "Merry Christmas" added in red with black outlines, and hand-drawn holly leaves in green. The album is bound with a red cellophane ribbon and tied into a bow through two holes along the spine. Description of inside front cover: Blurry, cut-out black and white photo, a head- and- shoulders portrait of Nicolas the cat. The photo is mounted on gray paper, which is then mounted on the green cover. Blue hand-watercolored border.
