Note in the hand of Edwin Powell Hubble: "Fire in munitions dump at entrance to St. Gotthard Tunnel disrupts RRY schedule. 1948". Everyone but Grace Hubble is wearing overcoats, and Edwin Hubble is the only one not wearing a hat. Edwin Hubble is holding a pipe in his left hand. The Saint Gotthard Tunnel is in Switzerland.
